The Bosnian and Herzegovinian furniture industry ”MS & WOOD” (Masters and Wood) from Fojnica won two German Design Awards for 2018. The ”Winner” prize in the category of Excellent Product Design Furniture, got designer Ado Avdagic for the dresser from the Primum collection, while ”Honorable Mention” award in the same category was awarded to designer Natasa Perkovic for the chair from the Elle collection.
”I am grateful to our teams who have worked hard to complete this complex project. This is the most important international confirmation of our success so far. Both collections are an ideal combination of the art of top masters and brilliant Bosnian designers, and we are delighted to see that jury in the field of design production, whose criteria are among the highest in Europe and the world recognize that, ”said Muhamed Pilav, owner and CEO of MS & WOOD.
”A distinctly shaped footboard on the PRIMUM dresser widens and develops into the upper flat surface, giving the entire dresser an elegant frame. It is a beautiful timeless piece of furniture which praises wood and its use with its distinctive front side, ” said the jury, among other things.
The German Design Award is the most significant competition of the German Design Council, which represents ”pioneering contribution to the German and international design scene.” The German Design Council, organizer of the German Design Award Competition, was founded by the German Bundestag in 1953 with the aim of supporting and promoting German design.
