The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić spoke on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference with the Special Representative of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for the Western Balkans, Lord Stuart Peach, the Office of the Chairman Komšić announced.

The topic of the conversation was, first of all, the fulfillment of the remaining reforms necessary for the opening of negotiations on the membership of BiH in the European Union (EU), regional challenges and prevention of the negative influence of the Russian Federation on the stability and Euro-Atlantic integration of the countries of the region.

In this context, the interlocutors agreed on the necessity of urgent energy diversification, i.e. reducing dependence on Russian gas by implementing the “Southern Interconnection” project.

It was assessed that the investment in the security and defense structures of Bosnia and Herzegovina is of exceptional importance, and the great contribution and continuous support of the United Kingdom to Bosnia and Herzegovina was confirmed.
