Komsic announced that he would run for another Term

The President of the Democratic Front (DF), Zeljko Komsic, announced that he would run for another term in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the October general elections.

“I will, I have to go further, I can’t stop now,” Komsic, a member of the BiH presidency, told Face TV when asked if he would run again.

Komsic says that there is no giving up in the business he decided to do, so “he has to go to the end”.

He announced that he would be the DF candidate and that he did not know yet whether there would be another larger party with him.

Komsic has been elected to the BiH Presidency three times so far as a Croat candidate.

The BiH Election Law allows for the possibility of two consecutive terms, so Komsic has the right to run again.

Komsic’s election to the Presidency of BiH was the reason for the parties gathered around the Croatian National Assembly (HNS) to insist on changes to the Election Law because they claim that he was elected by Bosniaks, not Croats, whose interests he should represent.

The general elections in BiH are scheduled for October 2, and the existing Election Law defines that one Croat and one Bosniak from the Federation of BiH and one Serb from the Republika Srpska are elected to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
