Komsic: The Holocaust was a horrible crime that affected the Consciousness of Society as a whole

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić issued a statement today on the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

“Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. 78 years have passed since the liberation of the largest Nazi concentration camp – Auschwitz. Time is passing by. Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer Holocaust witnesses who can testify about the horrors they survived,” wrote Komšić.

Komšić emphasized that the Holocaust, even though it was driven by hatred for the Jews in World War II, as a terrible crime affected the consciousness of society as a whole.

“Whenever we say “never again”, unfortunately, it happened again. Therefore, we are obliged to remember the victims of the Holocaust, the victims of the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, the genocide in Srebrenica, and the victims of the crimes that, unfortunately, are repeated even today in Ukraine and around the world. We must remind ourselves and we must fight against all forms of hatred, fascism and anti-Semitism for the benefit of future generations,” said Komšić in a press statement from the BiH Presidency.
