Konakovic: I hope that we will go to the Elections in the RS together with the SDA

The President of People and Justice party, Elmedin Konaković, expressed the hope that he will participate in the upcoming general elections in the Republika Srpska together with the Party of Democratic Action.

“I think that it is inevitable and that it forces us to be serious. This should happen, but not in such a way that someone ultimately, imperatively, using some of his methods that have already been seen, arranges the rules of behavior and minimizes a quality infrastructure,” he pointed out.

He said this today in Banja Luka after the signing of the Agreement on joint participation in the 2026 General Elections, which was also signed by the president of the SDP BiH Nermin Nikšić, and representatives of the parties NES, NAPRIJED and PDA.

Konaković pointed out that there are fewer and fewer people living in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially in the RS, and that there are fewer and fewer political subjects who have the capacity to achieve good election results on their own.

Konaković claims that this type of political association is an obligation for all those who love Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of improving living conditions in all of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“This is not some kind of rebellion or disloyal gathering, but an invitation to all Bosnian and Herzegovinian parties that feel Bosnia and Herzegovina is their state to join,”  he said.

Commenting on the youth protests in Sarajevo, Konaković said that he would also like Republika Srpska to have the youth that Sarajevo has.

“I would like this purest cry and scream of young people that I have seen in my political career to be protected from the parallel dirty political campaign that is being waged to really abuse this disaster. These young people are impressive, because they stood up against the system that has been destroying Bosnia and Herzegovina for twenty years. I applaud them for that,” said Konaković and added that he would talk to them if they invited him.

He emphasized that the story would move into a more rational phase of thinking and that then he would answer with arguments who is responsible for what was happening.

“Narod and Pravda were formed precisely against this, against the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office, which has never received a positive evaluation in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly in the last eight to ten years. They have zero votes for work and are a major cause of the problems that occur in society. Their “sloppy” investigation in this case also contributed to people doubting the regularity of the whole process even more. We also have doubts,” he said.

He claims that the resignation of CS Prime Minister Nihad Uk is a moral act and that this is how the Troika functions.

“Our party is not here today because there is no or no developed infrastructure in the BiH entity Republika Srpska,” he said.

Konaković also commented on the latest moves of SNSD president Milorad Dodik and said that Dodik is in huge problems and that he understands his frustration.

When asked if the third entity is the only way for Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina to exercise their rights, Konaković said that Croats have their rights in practice and on paper, which they exercise.

“Look at the structure of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina and how many Croats sit in the Council of Ministers and the Constitutional Court. The Croatian people certainly enjoy protection in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dragan Čović cannot explain to voters why he sided with Milorad Dodik and why he jeopardized the European path for Dodik. He needs a narrative that will deflect that kind of responsibility from himself, and the third entity is a comfort zone,” Konaković pointed out.
