The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met during the Munich Security Conference with the European Union’s special envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, and other regional issues of the Western Balkans, Miroslav Lajčak.

The meeting discussed the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European perspective of the countries of the Western Balkans, the reform process in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the security challenges facing Europe and the region.

The hope was expressed that Brussels will recognize the progress made by Bosnia and Herzegovina in its next report, and that the European Council will adopt a decision in March to open negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to further strengthen the integration process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“It was emphasized that European integration remains the primary foreign policy goal of BiH, and that European integration has no alternatives,” announced the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The 60th Munich Security Conference began today in Munich, during which the most important international security challenges and problems will be discussed at a high level.

The Munich Security Conference will last until February 18, and a large number of heads of state and government, ministers, security experts, as well as representatives of international organizations and civil society will participate in the meeting.

During the three-day conference, the participants will discuss the biggest challenges of the foreign and security policy of the present and the future, especially in light of the war between Russia and Ukraine, AA writes.
