Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, welcomed the first group of Bosnian citizens entering Kosovo without visas in the early hours of January 1, 2025.

The group was greeted at the border by Deputy Prime Minister Emilia Rexhepi. Speaking on the occasion, Kurti emphasized the importance of cooperation between Pristina and Sarajevo for regional security and the prosperity of all citizens.

“It is a great honor to welcome you to the Government of the Republic of Kosovo. We have long awaited this basic freedom of movement. Now, we must make up for lost time. You will always find a partner in the Government of Kosovo, one that encourages collaboration and frequent visits.

Happy New Year 2025! This year will be even better because the march toward freedom and justice cannot be stopped. While challenges and obstacles may arise, they only strengthen us for the future. Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo are two friendly states that must build new bridges—economically, educationally, and culturally.

Pristina and Sarajevo must take the lead in fostering these connections, as they are essential for regional security and the well-being of all our citizens. Welcome, and I am delighted to share this moment with you,” Kurti stated, Insider writes.
