The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations, Zlatko Lagumdžija, spoke at the commemoration, which is being held at a high level today in the hall of the UN General Assembly in New York.

At the beginning of his speech, he thanked all the co-sponsors of the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica.

“This event is also our call to leaders to act in the direction of achieving justice, trust and dialogue, acknowledging and teaching historical facts, honoring and remembering the victims, establishing the identity of those who are still missing and bringing all perpetrators to justice, facing the roots of the policies that led to the genocide,” said Lagumdžija.

He added that 14 victims had found peace this morning and reminded that some victims have not yet been found.

He thanked the UN Secretary, who was unable to come today and sent his adviser.

“I want to thank the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elmedin Konaković, who, in addition to his obligations at the NATO summit, came here. I want to thank everyone who will address,” said Lagumdžija.

“We should never forget that the events in Srebrenica are one of the darkest periods of modern human history.”, he concluded, Klix.ba writes.
