Lana Pudar Hospitalized and Withdraws from World Championship Due to Health Issues

The best swimmer from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lana Pudar, has cancelled her participation in the upcoming World Swimming Championships.

“Despite my great desire to compete in my fourth World Championships in a row, this time I am unfortunately forced to cancel my performance in Singapore for health reasons. On the second day after arriving at the final preparation camp in Turkey, I ended up in the hospital on an IV and was prescribed antibiotic therapy.

Since I have been unable to train normally and prepare for the championship for the second week now, my team and I have concluded that in these circumstances there is no point in going to this world championship just to record a performance and further risk my health, when I cannot be at my best.

It was really very difficult for me to make this decision, because I have been preparing for this championship for a very long time and very hard, but I think this is the only right decision at this moment.

Now I will focus on complete recovery, so that I can be as ready as possible to meet my departure to the United States of America, where I will start training in the second half of August,” Pudar announced on Facebook.
