Lavrov thanked Dodik for not imposing Sanctions

BiH Presidency Member Milorad Dodik met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in St. Petersburg. Lavrov thanked Dodik for not imposing sanctions on Russia, emphasizing that “Russia now knows who its friends are.”

According to Lavrov, “Westerners in BiH are trying to divert attention from domestic problems.”

“You are guarding the Dayton Peace Agreement,” Lavrov said.

Dodik agreed with Lavrov on this issue, adding that “it is the West that has broken the Dayton Accords.”

“The basic process is whether we join the sanctions against Russia. You know that we do not allow that, others in BiH want that, but formally and legally BiH has not imposed sanctions,” Dodik emphasized.

He thanked Russia for gas prices, which did not rise in BiH.

According to Dodik, “foreigners want either subjects or protégés in BiH, and the role of the British is now very expansive.”

“There is no way they can leave us alone, to organize our own country,” said Dodik.

He mentioned that elections are coming up in BiH, and that it is evident that “Westerners want to interfere”.

He informed Lavrov that French President Emanuel Macron is also introducing a special representative in BiH, which “speaks enough about the attempt to influence”, and the same representatives were introduced by the United States and Great Britain.

“Elections are waiting for us, Westerners are promoting their structures and there will be a difficult political struggle. I have no intention of losing!” said Dodik.
