The legendary Portuguese football player Luis Figo arrived today in Sarajevo.

The well-known footballer comes to Sarajevo on the invitation of Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka to attend the International Tour Operator’s Meeting, Klix.ba news portal reports.

“I’m happy to arrive to Sarajevo, it’s great to visit this country, and I hope to get to know the city better because I have just arrived today, and I will visit the mayor in his office. I know that BiH is a country of sports and football,” said the former Real Madrid and Barcelona player.

He also mentioned Miralem Pjanic and speculation about the transfer to Real Madrid.

“He is playing in the big club now, in Juventus, he is a great player, it’s normal that there is an interest for him, it’s all a matter of decision, you have to ask him if he wants to change the club, as I’ve said all the great clubs want to have great players”, said Figo.

During the “MeetupSarajevoo 2019” event, 200 travel agencies from 100 countries engaged in networking, exchange of experiences and new co-operation, and it was an opportunity for BiH tourism workers and hoteliers to connect directly with international companies.

Tour operators and guests visited on Friday some of the most attractive tourist locations in Sarajevo and met tourist operators from BiH in order to establish contacts and direct business communication, which will contribute to the overall tourist growth.
