After the international match between the national football teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sweden, the Headquarters for Coordinating and Directing Security Activities analyzed the undertaken activities and the overall implementation of the Plan of Operational, Physical, Counter-Explosive (KDZ), and Traffic Security Measures.
It was confirmed that during and after the match, no incidents or other events occurred that would endanger the personal security and property of fans, technical staff, or guests.
A total of nine breaches of public order were recorded, seven of which were for using pyrotechnic devices, and two cases of particularly insolent behaviour. The requests to issue misdemeanor proceedings against the perpetrators before the competent court were submitted, according to the Department for Public Relations, Analytics, and Planning of the ZDK Ministry of Interior.
To carry out all security for this sporting event, all available personnel were deployed from the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Zenica-Doboj Canton, members of the Special Police Unit and the Support Police Unit of the Federal Police Administration, members of special police units and support units from the police directorates of the ministries of interior of Sarajevo Canton, Tuzla Canton, Central Bosnia Canton, and Bosnian-Podrinje Canton, as well as police officers from the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Within the specified activities, multiple service dogs trained for riot control and detecting narcotics and explosives were also deployed.
The statement said that, in addition to necessary personnel, the realization of security measures also included contemporary technical systems and equipment, such as unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), anti-drone systems, and surveillance systems covering key city locations, as well as official vehicles with cameras for video surveillance and field documentation.
We emphasize the impact of using contemporary anti-drone systems of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Zenica-Doboj Canton, which enabled efficient monitoring, surveillance and control of the airspace above and around the stadium.
By implementing the aforementioned systems, the Police Officers were able to precisely locate drone operators in the field, as well as unauthorized drones in flight, which further enhanced the security operation in Zenica in the segment of airspace control. On that occasion, a total of nine drones without the necessary permits were located and neutralized. The measures prescribed by law were taken against the operators, according to the statement.
The Ministry of Interior of Zenica-Doboj Canton thanked citizens and guests for demonstrating dignity, sportsmanlike behaviour, and cooperation with police officers on the field by respecting instructions and orders from police officers. In this way, they helped ensure the international event passed off without incident, they stated.
