Sarajevo is hosting a marathon race of 42.195 kilometers, which is also the BiH Marathon Championship, as well as the Nutrino-vih21K – half marathon and the Osman Junuzović 5K Memorial Race powered by Fine food.
There are over 2,000 competitors from 47 countries on the streets of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo, which is a new record in terms of the number of participants and the number of countries represented.
The Boys in Blue Association apologized to the citizens of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo for the temporary, partial traffic closures that will last on Sunday, April 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Traffic on the main city road in the direction of Marijin Dvor – Ilidža was normalized by 9:40 a.m. On the section that passes through the municipality of East Ilidža, traffic will alternately be in one lane from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
They called on the citizens of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo to take to the streets and support the runners.
Race route: the start of the race is at Vilsonovo šetalište near the Ars Aevi bridge and continues over the Suade and Olga bridges, Grbavička, Ivica Osim Boulevard, AS roundabout, Topal Osman Paše – Vilsonovo šetalište – Vrbanja – Zmaja od Bosne – Meše Selimović Boulevard – Džemala Bijedića – Ilidža underpass – Blažujski drum – Vrelo Bosne – Stojčevac – Velika aleja – Hrasnička cesta – Put Famosa – 4. Avgusta – Second Sarajevo Brigade – Vasilije Grđića – Kurta Schorka – Vahide Maglajlića – Mimar Sinan Boulevard – Plavi put – Želimir Vidovića Kelija – Šejh Husein Bakri Gazaz – Safet Hadžića – Ivica Osim Boulevard, AS roundabout, Topal Osman Paše – Vilsonovo šetalište.
The safety of the participants is ensured by around 250 security guards, members of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Sarajevo Military Police.
