Lejla Njemcevic once again among the Top Ten Female Cyclists in the World

Bicyclist Lejla Njemčević from Bosnia and Herzegovina is again in the top 10 in the world, and after registering points from the Balkan Championship, she ranks eighth in the UCI ranking list.

After a recent dominant victory at the Balkan Championship, which won her sixth consecutive title and became the best Balkan female cyclist ever, she registered 30 new UCI points. After registering those points, Njemčević advanced by four positions and currently occupies a high eighth place in the world marathon ranking.

Although she recorded excellent results during the season, such as winning third place at the World Cup in Italy, her progress on the UCI list was hampered by the fact that she lost a large number of points last season due to a technical failure and withdrawing from the European Championship.

This season, she experienced a fall at the European Championship at the 27th kilometer and injured her shoulder, but managed to finish the race, i.e. drive the remaining 45 kilometers and take a high sixth place.

The points on the UCI list must be defended every season, so that until the end of the season, Njemčević has the opportunity to make new progress and continue climbing to the very top.

Njemčević is currently in altitude training, where, under a strict training regime, he is making final preparations for the absolute most important challenge of this season, i.e. the appearance at the World Championship in Italy, scheduled for September 12, Lejla Njemčević’s PR team announced.
