Jusuf Nurkic, a representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH)and basketball player of the Portland Trail Blazers NBA team, organized the “Srebrenica 2023” basketball camp yesterday, where children from Vukovar and Srebrenica, as well as children from KK Guber, had the opportunity to meet and work with NBA league coaches, reports Anadolu.
This basketball player from BiH is primarily active through his foundation in humanitarian work throughout BiH, reports RTV Srebrenica.
“First of all, we want to motivate children to be active in the best possible way, and on the other hand, leave them with beautiful experiences. I am here with the children and I want to share my happiness with them because the children motivate me. We hear through the media and it is said that there is no life in Srebrenica and that the situation is difficult, and I think I am convinced of the exact opposite. It is definite that there is life, people, and children in Srebrenica as you can see. This motivates me to create an institution for all the children of Srebrenica, and I hope that I will succeed because I am working on it intensively. I want them to have the best conditions for education and childhood so that they will become good people tomorrow,” noted Nurkic yesterday.
In the afternoon, the five-on-five tournament was held, where coaches played matches in teams of ten students each.
After the competition, a joint lunch was planned for all participants of yesterday‘s camp, and then all participants received medals from Jusuf Nurkic and his guests.
