151024043.1_xlMajor volunteer campaign of tree planting “Let’s Do It – million seedlings in a day” was implemented yesterday throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Organizers of the action are Citizens’ Association “Ruke” Sarajevo and Citizens’ Association “Mozaik prijateljstva” Banja Luka. Enterprises that manage forests provided great support to this campaign by providing seedlings, tools, and locations for planting.

As well as in the previous campaigns, special partner of Let’s Do It project is the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina which this year again logistically and with concrete volunteer work of the employees of OCB&H and the BH Olympians contributed significantly to the successful realization of the Project in all three stages: cleaning, education across schools, and afforestation.

With socialization and pleasant atmosphere, tens of thousands of seedlings of different sorts of trees were planted in more than 50 municipalities.

“Campaign ‘Let’s Do It – million seedlings in a day’ represents a unique opportunity for the engagement of the citizens in socially beneficial activities and strengthening the community. Citizens of all ages today played an important role and contributed to the care for a more beautiful and healthier environment. Positive and pleasant atmosphere ruled among the volunteers, new friendships have been made and the existing have been made stronger, while we were working all together for the common good”, the organizers of the campaign stated.

The project Let’s Do It was supported by all enterprises that manage the forests in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Office of the European Union Special Representative in B&H, the Embassy of Germany, and socially responsible companies Eko život, Konzum, and Sarajevski kiseljak.
