The body of the boy Vukasin Samardzija, whose disappearance was reported yesterday morning, was found in a forest near Lake Alagovac, which belongs to the municipality of Nevesinje.

According to RTRS, the boy’s body was found by locals who took part in the search. The Nevesinje Police Department confirmed to RTRS that the police are at the site of Lake Alagovac, which is a few kilometers away from the house where the boy lived.

The boy’s disappearance was reported yesterday morning, after he did not show up between 3:30 p.m. the day before. After the report, about 110 members of the Mountain Rescue Service from all over BiH arrived in Nevesinje, and the police and locals also took part in the search for the boy, which was confirmed by the head of the Citluk Mountain Rescue Service Station, Zarko Pehar.

It is believed that the boy walked away from home by bicycle after which all trace of him was lost. More than 300 people were looking for the boy, and in addition to the police and the Mountain Rescue Service, members of the Civil Protection, hunting societies and a large number of citizens also participated.

Two helicopters of the Helicopter Service of the Republika Srpska in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior were also involved in the search, and the Civil Protection Administration also made drones available, according to RTRS.
