At the invitation of the legend and regular jumper from the Old Bridge Lorens Listo, a six-year-old Ismail Zulfic and his parents attended the 451st jumps from the Old Bridge, together with his swimming coach and founder of the Swimming Club Spid from Sarajevo, Amel Kapo. Although he is only six years old, Ismail already won a gold medal at the competition that was held in Zagreb in early May this year.

Looking at the arch of the Old Bridge, Ismail said to his coach Amel that he would jump if he would wait for him in the water.

“Ismail is very excited. People recognize him, they are greeting him. He made quite a show,” said the proud coach.

The will for life that this boy, who was born without hands, shows is absolutely indescribable. With the support of Ismail’s parents Ismet and Elmina, besides swimming, Ismail also learned to ski. Although they live in Zenica, his parents take Ismail to training at the Olympic Pool Otoka twice a week.

The Swimming Club Spid is the only club in BiH that works with the children and people with disabilities. More than 50 children from all over BiH learned to swim despite their disability thanks to coach Kapo and his assistants.
