Loan Agreement between BiH and the EBRD signed in Sarajevo

The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Minister of Finance and Treasury, Zoran Tegeltija, and the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odil Reno-Basso, signed today in Sarajevo the Loan Agreement between BiH and the European Bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD) for the Ilidža – Hrasnica tramway construction project, Fena reports.

The amount of the loan is EUR 25,000,000.00. The Project is expected to be completed by December 31, 2025.

The purpose of the Project is to solve one of the key challenges in the development of public transport infrastructure in Sarajevo by improving access to cleaner city transport, as well as improving the accuracy, capacity and efficiency of public transport services.

It also refers to the resolution of priority environmental protection issues related to air quality through the promotion of the use of public transport.

The loan repayment term is 15 years, including a three-year grace period for principal repayment, repayment in 24 equal half-yearly installments, variable interest – six-month EURIBOR + 1 percent margin.
