Long Delays in the Judiciary’s handling Cases are unacceptable for a Country seeking Membership in the EU

The long delays in the judiciary’s handling cases are unacceptable for a country seeking membership in the European Union, was stated by the Neighbourhood and Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn on Twitter on Sunday.

He added by saying that he met three months ago with the parents of David Dragicevic and Dzenan Memic.

“Yesterday they and many other frustrated parents and citizens demonstrated peacefully in Sarajevo against the lack of justice in BiH,” Hahn added, referring to protests which happened in front of the National Theater in Sarajevo on Saturday evening.

These protests were a kind of reaction of the Memic family after the Supreme Court of the Federation of BiH accepted the appeal of the Prosecutor’s Office of Canton Sarajevo for the acquittal of Ljubo and Bekrija Seferovic, who were charged with “causing traffic accidents and preventing evidence”.

In front of the Theater, there were several hundred residents who support the family in their struggle for justice. The crowd was saying “Justice for David,” “Justice for Dzenan,” “Justice for all our children.”

“Eighteenth time I’m pointing out on the crime. The traffic accident did not happen. Dalida Burzic is a criminal, Seval Kovacevic is a criminal! Constitutional Court, Supreme Court. They are not giving up, but I do not give up and will go to the end.”

I dreamed Dzenan last night and he asked me: “What’s wrong with you?” Soon I will come, I will finish this safely. I know the name of the killer, but I will never tell. Ask the lawyer why. It is done by institutions and Dalida Burzic. I will take over justice in my hands, I’m not afraid to die, I hardly wait to meet with Dzenan, “said Muriz Memic, the father of the murdered Dzenan.
