Delegation of the Committee on International Affairs of the House of Lords of the British Parliament will pay a visit to BiH today and tomorrow as part of the research and analysis of challenges that the Western Balkans is facing with, as well as the consequences for British politics, especially after Brexit.
A four-member delegation that is led by Lord Howell of Guidlford, the former State Secretary for Transport and Energy, will attend numerous meetings, including the one with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Josip Brkic, as well as meetings with representatives of executive and legislative power at the state and entity levels, the Inter-religious Council of BiH, representatives of the civil society, the security sector and the international community, including the High Representative, as announced by the British Embassy in BiH.
Besides this visit, this analysis of the situation takes into consideration both written templates and oral testimonies of a wide range of relevant actors from the United Kingdom and the region.
The analysis refers to three areas: the challenges that the region is facing with, the external relations of the region, and British interests and politics. The request for the analysis of the situation was started in July and the report will be presented at the end of the year.
