Zdenko Lučić, the candidate for the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from among the Croat people, said that Croats will fight for their entity or the Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia if their rights aren’t met.
When asked by a Euronews journalist whether Croats need a third entity, Lučić said that Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina must realize their rights—if they don’t, then they have the right to self-determination within Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He said that Herzeg-Bosnia never stopped existing on the ground.
“A total of 8,000 people died for it. We extended our hand to ourpartners, the Bosniaks, and entered into some kind of marriage. If someone is abusing you in a marriage, you have the right toleave that marriage. According to international law, the Croats of Bosnia and Herzegovina have the right to self-determination within Bosnia and Herzegovina. When Herzeg-Bosnia existed, the words ‘Bosnia and Herzegovina’ were written above it. We are for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but one that is equal for all constituent peoples,” he said.
When asked which colleague he would like to see in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina if he were to be elected, he replied: anyone who is the legitimately elected representative of the Serb and Bosniak peoples.
“Whoever it is, I hope we will establish good cooperation, for the sake of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the lives of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”, Klix.ba writes.
