Near Bihac, in the Racic settlement, there is a tourist attraction of the Japod (Japodski) Islands. This wonder of nature is a cultural and archaeological area, surrounded by greenery and the blue queen – the river Una.

The Japod Islands are an incredible tourist attraction of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), located right next to the Croatian border. Ait, connected by wooden bridges, territorially borders the beautiful Una National Park, one of the three national parks in BiH.

This park marked the western part of Bosnia where it is located with its colors, sounds and images, and it is interesting that it is only 40 kilometers away from the Plitvice Lakes National Park. It belongs to the Unsko-Koranska plain and includes the valleys of the Una and Unac rivers.

The islets through which the river Una flows

Five river islands, i.e. ait not far from Bihac, in the town of Racic, has no competition in the world for its beauty. They are connected by wooden bridges, and the river Una flows through them, creating cascades, writes Punkufer.

The arranged tourist center Japod Islands consists of an arranged parking lot, a restaurant under which you can hear the rustle of the river, a beach bar and a large camping area. In accordance with the natural balance, all buildings are predominantly wooden, and the reconstruction of the Japod settlement, as it once existed in those areas, is also planned.

Sleep in a tree, in a luxury tent, apartment or cottage

Along with all the beauty that the Japod Islands offer, the accommodation offered there creates a special delight and experience. A treehouse that will take you back to your childhood and the fairy tales you enjoyed back then. In addition, there are real luxury wooden bungalows, which will add comfort to your stay, and you can also bring a tent. You can also sleep in apartments or cottages, N1 reports.
