On the plateau of the Old Bridge in Mostar, a festive reception was organized tonight for the best BiH swimmer Lana Pudar. As part of the ceremony, there was a magnificent torchlight and a jump into the Neretva for Lana, N1 reports.
The ceremony was attended by many politicians from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as many citizens.
The mayor of Mostar, Mario Kordic, also addressed those present.
”We know that there is a lot behind Lana, a lot of sacrifice, effort… I emphasize the common goal and common effort of all actors. This is a miracle in Mostar, like many miracles. Bogdanovic, the Karacic brothers, last year Velez, now Zrinjsko… Today we cannot boast that we did not create the conditions, but we pledge to do so in the future. Maybe some people expected me to talk about the construction of the swimming pool here, but I will say in Lana’s style, “preparations are underway, we are working and we will finish,” said Kordic.
At the very end of the ceremony, Kordic presented Lana with a plaque and the keys to the apartment, which surprised the successful sixteen-year-old.
“The support I have means a lot to me, and I didn’t expect to get an apartment at the age of 16. I hope that the construction of the swimming pool will start as soon as possible, because this city and I deserve it,” said Lana.
The amazing Bosnian swimmer Lana Pudar recorded the biggest success of her career after winning the gold medal in the 200 meters butterfly at the European Aquatic Championships held in Rome.
After performing in the 50 and 100 meter butterfly disciplines, after which she won the European bronze, Pudar also performed in the final discipline at this European Championship today, where she took a spectacular first place.
Pudar swam a time of 2:06.81, which is enough for an incredible first place and the biggest success of her career. Lana performed in lane number two and kept the first place from the start of the race until the very end.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turkovic will award the best BiH swimmer and new European champion Lana Pudar a diplomatic passport.
“I made the decision to grant the diplomatic passport of BiH to the European champion Lana Pudar due to the exceptional success and promotion of the country, as an act of support and recognition for the great contribution of BiH sport. Your successes are an inspiration for everyone, especially young people in our BiH,” wrote Turkovic on her Twitter account.
