The 16-year-old Lana Pudar from Mostar, who entered her city and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina in golden letters in the European sports championship with her masterful swimming, received a mural in her hometown as a congratulatory, thanking and acknowledgment of the citizens for the success of which everyone is proud.
The mural was painted on the wall of a building in Gojka Vukovica Street in Mostar’s Donja Mahala neighborhood next to the image of BiH boxer Adnan Catic, organized by the Sinovi Association,
The mural is the work of the famous Mostar artist Maid Mido Redzic, who painted a large number of murals on buildings as part of the Street Art Fest in the largest city on the Neretva River.
The image of the European champion, after winning the 200-meter swimming championship with a record time of 2:06.81, worked for 15 active hours and finished before the ceremony that will be held today at 7 p.m. under the Stari most on the occasion of Lana Pudar’s great success.
The president of the “Sons of Mahala” Association, Dževad Pasic, told Klix.ba portal that during the creation of the mural, none of the tourists and citizens passed by in a vehicle or on foot without stopping to see the work of art in the making and take a photo with the figure of the European champion in her hometown.
“We have been operating in this street for 14 years and many people already know it, and now because of the Lana Pudar mural it will surely be even more famous and interesting to tourists,” says Pasic.
He emphasizes that the goal was to give recognition to a sixteen-year-old fellow citizen, who the whole world is talking about because of the success she achieved despite not even having the basic conditions for training. That’s how she made all the people of Mostar proud, as well as Bosnians and Herzegovinans.
