Robert Card, 40, was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Maine Public Safety Commissioner Michael Sauschuck said.
“The suspect in Wednesday night’s shooting has been located and has passed away,” the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook.
At a news conference at Lewiston City Hall, Maine Gov. Janet Mills said the body was found in Lisbon, near where the shooting happened.
We remind you that 18 people were killed and around 50 were wounded in a mass shooting that happened 3 days ago in the city of Lewiston in the American state of Maine.
Maine police say the suspect in the mass shooting was a firearms instructor who recently received treatment at a mental health facility. He was trained by the army and was recently sent to an institution to get adequate help for his mental problems.
A police bulletin said Card reported hearing “voices” and threatening to shoot up an Army training base in Saco, Maine, Klix.ba reports.
