Man who saved many Lives by voluntarily driving Oxygen for People suffering from Covid, passed away

Sad news, the hero from Konjic, Miralem Mika Sabic, has passed away.

The most difficult times always show who are the heroes, and in the time of coronavirus and uncertainty in Konjic, when the citizens of this city fell ill en masse and were placed in an improvised isolation ward, Mika appeared. He drove bottles of valuable oxygen from Sarajevo to Konjic every day in his van.

Treatment in Turkey

The world media also wrote about him.

”It’s nothing special. The most important thing for me is that our neighbors are well and healthy,” said the modest Mika.

Then he got sick too. He was suffering from a severe form of brain tumor. After hospital treatment in Mostar, Sabic traveled to Turkey for treatment in September, but sad news arrived yesterday.

Shrapnel in the lungs

Mika was a voluntary blood donor for many years, a war invalid who was wounded twice, and one wound left him with shrapnel in his lungs. He later became the hero of the new age and the savior of many lives by bringing oxygen bottles.

The editorial board of “Sarajevo Times” sends its sincere condolences to the family.
