Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Marina Pendes, the chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH, Lieutenant General Anto Jelec and military bishop dr. Tomo Vuksic today led Catholic members of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 14th military prayer march “Prayer for Homeland” at Bobovac.

In the seat of medieval Bosnian rulers, on the day of the death of the Bosnian Queen Katarina Kosaca-Kotromanic, a large number of believers from neighboring and distant parishes marched in the presence of chairman of the Presidency of BiH Dragan Covic and the president of the Federation of BiH Marinko Cavara.

In addition to the Catholic members of the MoD and the AFBiH and police and security services at all entity and state levels, representatives of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, as well as members of international military forces stationed in Bosnia and Herzegovina led by EUFOR commander Anton Waldner also participated.

A mass at Bobovac was led by Metropolitan Archbishop of Vrhbosna Cardinal Vinko Puljic in communion with Tom Vuksic, military bishop in BiH, and Jude Bogdan, the military bishop in Croatia.

Cardinal Puljic started a prayer march in memory of the day of the death of Bosnian queen Katarina Kosaca on October 25th, 1478, with the goal of uniting in prayer for personal needs, for their own people and their homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also for all people and nations who live in it. This year’s campaign was the sixteenth Prayer Day for the Patriarchate of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, and at the same time the 14th military pilgrimage to Bobovac.
