How many Passengers were transported from the Tuzla Airport in 2015?

Tuzla International Airport wikimedia.orgFrom the International Airport Tuzla (MAT) was transported more than 256,000 passengers in 2015, which is 100,000 passengers more in comparison to 2014, as confirmed by the Director of the International Airport Tuzla, Rifet Karasalihovic.

According to him, traffic of 305,000 passengers is planned for 2016, while the result for the first 6 months of this year was 170,000 passengers.

Karasalihovic emphasized that the International Airport Tuzla had 45 employees in 2015, and it has 150 employees in this year, which is more than 100 new work places in half of a year.

Besides the current flights to eight destinations, which are Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmo, Copenhagen, Dortmund, Frankfurt Hahn, Memmingen, Basel and Eindhoven, and Wizzair has announced flights to two new destinations – Berlin and Billund, by the end of the year.

Karasalihovic states that 500 000 BAM was allocated from the budget of the cantonal government for this year for capital investment and that in the first quarter wasalready withdrawn the amount of 250,000 BAM for handling cargo traffic that has been recently established.

He also emphasized that the capital investment of the Government of FBiH for this airport in the current year amount to 1.570.000 BAM, of which 1.3 million BAM are intended for project of upgrading the approach lights on the airport which is in progress, and the remaining funds for the purchase of airport equipment.

In the past two months, from this airport was realized 35 cargo flights with Airbus 330 by the company Turkish Cargo, which is part of Turkish Airlines, and Karasalihovic expressed his satisfaction with cooperation with the aforementioned company.
