Marine Le Pen will be a Candidate for the Presidential Elections in France

Far-right Marine Le Pen, who was Emmanuel Macron’s opponent in last year’s presidential elections in France, will be the candidate of her National Assembly (RN) party in the 2027 elections as well.

Party spokesman Julien Odoul, in an interview with “Si News et Europ 1”, stated that the party’s official candidate in the 2027 presidential elections will be Marine Le Pen.

He said party leader Jordan Bardella would take over the presidency in the event the National Assembly is dissolved following a vote of no confidence in the government over the controversial immigration law.

In 2022, Le Pen handed over the leadership of her party to Jordan Bardella.

Le Pen, who went to the second round with Emmanuel Macron in the 2022 presidential election, lost the presidential race with approximately 42 percent of the vote.

In a television program she attended in September, Le Pen said:

“I am the natural candidate of my party for the presidential elections in 2027”.

Since the current President Macron was elected for the second time, according to the Constitution, he cannot run again in the 2027 elections.
