A Representative Office of UNHCR in B&H and the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of B&H will mark the World Day of Refugees today at the Square of Sarajevo children under the motto “Annex VII of the Dayton Peace Agreement, after 20 years: Solutions are are in sight!…but there is still a lot of job to do…“
That is an opportunity to remind on achievements in finding a solution for the problem of war-displaced persons, but also on the existing possibilities and challenges for the joint venture towards the creating of better living opportunities for the remaining returnees and internally displaced persons.
An event will be opened by the group of school children from Mostar, from the reception center for refugees Salakovac, the Egyptian village and the Family center, by the performance of a dance act “We are stronger together“.
Attendees will be addressed by the Regional representative of UNHCR, Andrew Mayne, the Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of B&H, Semiha Borovac, the Head of operations of the Section for social development, civil society and the cross-border cooperation of the EU Delegation in B&H, Massimo Mina, the director of the Department for the Human Dimension of the OSCE Mission in B&H, Kendali Palmer and the first Deputy High Representative, David M. Robinson.
Showing of the short documentary movies about the life in collective centers in B&H, and about the potential user of the Regional housing program, as well as the presentation of project activities within the Annex VII of a Dayton Peace Agreement, were provided.
Also, returnees and the internally displaced persons will exhibit domestic products and handcrafts on stands, as announced from the UNHCR.
