Protests in Sarajevo: Citizens Brought Wreaths to ‘Lay to Rest’ the Current Government

PERFORMANS DEMONSTRANATA U SARAJEVU - SAHRANA I DŽENAZA BH POLITIÈARIMAClose to 100 citizens have gathered in front of the B&H Presidency building for another day of peaceful protests. In the 26 days of protests, they have been expressing their dissatisfaction with the current government.

At the protests in Sarajevo today, there are mostly older people, among which are many unemployed former workers.

They are carrying banners and are using whistles to show their dissatisfaction.

They said that the plenums of citizens must return to the questions that forced people to go out and protest.

Traffic is blocked, and there is security in front of the B&H Presidency.

The protestors also prepared a performance today that symbolizes the funeral of the B&H leaders.

They brought wreaths and bouquets of flowers and organized something akin to a funeral and are shouting out” ‘’Will we forgive them?’’, and the response is ‘’No!’’.

They then explained that in old Bosnian tradition, when someone is laid to rest, then the person’s good deeds are mentioned. All who were present were asked to try to remember whether the government has done anything good for them. They said that it has not, and that ‘God will neither forgive them’.

They have prepared an improvised tombstone where they have written the names of some B&H politicians, and where they have placed flowers and are reading aloud their obituaries.

They call on all citizens to put their idleness aside and go out and protest.
