ademir_zilicAdemir Žilić, a student from Sweden, who was born in B&H, is a candidate of Swedish liberals for the European Parliament in the upcoming elections.

Žilić was born in 1989 in Doboj, and he lived in Modriča until the war. He is a student of the last year in the faculty of Linköping, studying in an MA program “International and European Relations”. Currently, he is writing his master thesis on EU enlargement. Also, he is in the position of the President of Liberal Youth Party for Östergötland region. He is nominated from the social-liberal party Folkpartiet Liberalerna.

Žilić in an interview for Agency Fena said that Folkpartiet is the only party in Sweden that is going on this year’s European elections with a pro – European political program.

He claims that in case he gets elected, he will seek from the EU to be more dedicated to B&H in solving problems towards EU membership.

“So far, the focus of Brussels has been to solve problems between Kosovo and Serbia. A survey was presented last year, that revealed that about 80 % of B&H citizens supports B&H membership in EU. Thus, Brussels has democratic commitments towards B&H citizens to do everything and that B&H joins the EU soon”, said Žilić.

According to him, EU needs to, without delays, immediately assist B&H politically and economically in the fight against corruption, organized crime and reforms of the entire political system in order for the state to become functional.
