The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted a conclusion today at an extraordinary session, instructing the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina to adopt a decision on declaring May 25, as the Day of Mourning in the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Tuzla marks the 28th anniversary of the horrific massacre in Kapija, when the grenade was fired from Ozren Mountain by the Army of Republika Srpska on May 25, 1995, killing 71 people and wounded more than 200.

This massacre, also known as the crime over Tuzla’s Youth, is one of the worst crimes committed against civilians in Tuzla.

The grenade from Ozren fired on that date the Serbian army under Novak Đukić’s command, who ordered the shooting of civilian targets in Tuzla with cannon missiles.

Novak Djukic is at liberty today and resides in Serbia whose citizenship he owns.

The Day of Mourning is marked by the obligatory display of the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at half-mast, i.e. mast, on the buildings of the Government of FBiH and institutions of the Federation of BiH, announced the Public Relations Office of the Government of FBiH.

On the Day of Mourning, cultural and entertainment programs cannot be held in public places in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Media houses in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are obliged to harmonize and adapt their program contents to the Day of Mourning.
