Alen Hedo, master of legal sciences with 100 percent disability, about whom we recently wrote, after receiving a rejection for a job in the city administration of Goražde, in the next two months he will be engaged in the Ministry of Interior of BPK Goražde.
“At least temporarily I will not be confined within the four walls of my house. This is the move of the BPK Ministry of Internal Affairs led by Minister Nusret Hubjer, and with the support of the BPK Government. I am using the opportunity to thank the people who, based on the needs of this ministry, enabled me to be temporarily engaged for the duration from two months or until the final decision on the appointment to a position in the City Administration is made,” Hedo told Klix.ba.
Two years ago, Hedo was publicly promised a job in the city administration by the mayor of Goražde, Ernest Imamović. After the competition procedure for the position of expert associate for legal affairs in the field of communal activities, he chose him for this position as the third from the list of successful candidates, but in the meantime he was rejected in the appeal process.
“I hope that the City of Goražde will stand by the decision on my appointment, which was made in accordance with Article 39 paragraph 2 and 3 of the Law on Civil Service BPK and Article 15 paragraph 3 of the Law on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities FBiH. Any agreement with the FBiH state appeals board’s decision would be discriminatory and a decision that would cause the City of Goražde to fail the test of accessibility, equality and acceptance of the other and different. I believe that this will not happen and that through my case we will send a message that highly educated disabled people should be part of the system in our city and that they can be useful to themselves and others. Thank you to my fellow citizens for all the calls, messages and any other way of support,” said Hedo.
