National football team of B&H and Ireland last night played drew in the first match of play-offs for the European Championship in France.
Edin Dzeko scored for B&H in the 85th minute, and Robert Brady for Ireland, in the 81st minute.
The best football players of B&H dominated in the first 45 minutes of the match at the stadium “Bilino Polje”, but the realization was missing. B&H was attacking by Pjanic, Visca and Zukanovic, but there was no goal, while the Irish footballers mainly focused on the defense of their goal, with occasional attempts for counter-attack.
The second half brought a similar atmosphere as the first one, and B&H had the first opportunity in the 52nd minute after a counterattack of Visca, but the Irish defense saved the situation and eliminated danger. In the next attack, Ireland had the best opportunity until then, but Hendrick missed.
At the beginning of the second half of the match, thick fog came down to the field which significantly reduced the visibility and made conditions for the match on the field a lot more difficult. After 60th minute, Lulic found himself alone in front of the Irish goalkeeper, however, he managed to stop him.
In the 81st minute, after a bad reaction of B&H players, the ball went to the Irish player Robbie Brady, who went out alone against Begovic and scored a goal for Ireland. Ireland managed to get into the lead after one of the very rare opportunities in this match.
B&H team started playing offensively, and just 4 minutes later Ognjen Vranjes passed the ball to Edin Dzeko who scored for tied result.
The match ended with a draw that is much better for the Irish, but the second match of these two teams, which will be played in Dublin on Monday, will decide the participant of the European Championship.
