The Prime Minister and members of the Government of the Sarajevo Canton hosted a delegation from Istanbul led by Mayor Ekrem İmamoglu on Saturday.

After the meeting, İmamoglu told reporters that this was his first official visit in the current term and that he promised voters in the past election period that his first destination would be Sarajevo.

During the meeting, important topics were discussed, namely the enhancement of economic cooperation, and some “concrete agreements” were reached.

Mayor of Istanbul stressed that Istanbul’s role in the cultural sense is very important, but economic ties are also extremely important.

İmamoglu expressed Istanbul’s willingness to offer an experience of preserving an authentic spirit of Sarajevo, enriched with multiculturalism.

Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Edin Forto said on the occasion of the visit that a series of activities and setting guidelines for deepening the already existing cooperation will follow, Federal News Agency reported.
