Russia is monitoring events in Palestine even though it is carrying out a special military operation, Russian President Vladimir Putin said today during a conversation with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.
“We have not seen each other for two years, although we are in constant contact and I am very glad to see you and the delegation. Everyone knows that Russia today, unfortunately, has to defend its interests, protect its people with weapons in their hands, but events do not go unnoticed in the Middle East and Palestine,” Putin emphasized during the meeting with Abbas.
According to Putin, Russia has long-standing and deep ties with the Arab world, especially with Palestine, which is of particular importance to Moscow.
The Russian leader pointed out that Russia has always advocated a peaceful solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and that Moscow’s position on the issue has not changed, reports TASS.
