The meeting was also attended by Ms. Vedrana Vikić Music, Director of the Airport Services Sector, and Mr. Timur Šeta, Advisor to the Director’s Office. During the meeting, a substantive discussion was held on the possibilities of improving air connectivity and cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the People’s Republic of China, with a special focus on the long-term and sustainable development of air traffic.

Special attention was paid to considering the potential for establishing an airline between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the People’s Republic of China, including the largest urban centers in China, as well as the possibilities of organizing charter flights in order to support tourist and business movements during the tourist season. In this context, it was emphasized that over 90,000 tourists from the People’s Republic of China visited Bosnia and Herzegovina last year, which further confirms the growing interest in the destination and the importance of improving air connectivity. The importance of air traffic for facilitating the arrival of tourist and business delegations from the People’s Republic of China to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as delegations from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the People’s Republic of China, and the further strengthening of cooperation in the fields of tourism, economy, culture, sports, along with the exchange of knowledge and experiences, was also discussed.

The meeting presented the Sarajevo International Airport’s incentive program intended for airlines considering the introduction of new and strategic routes, with an emphasis on a transparent and competitive support framework.

A special segment of the discussion was also dedicated to the cargo potential of the Sarajevo airport, emphasizing the role of air cargo traffic as an additional channel for improving trade and logistics exchange between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the People’s Republic of China. The interlocutors agreed on the importance of continuing open dialogue and coordination of relevant institutions, with full respect for the applicable legal frameworks and institutional competencies, and confirmed their readiness for further cooperation and consideration of concrete steps in the coming period.

The meeting was held in a positive, professional and highly constructive atmosphere, with a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and developing long-term cooperation in the field of air transport.
