IDUDomestic and international participants of regular session of the International Democratic Union emphasized that the fact that the biggest global association of people’s parties is holding its session in Sarajevo proves that BiH is returning to the focus of the international policy.

Senad Šepić, Vice President of Party of Democratic Action of BiH, finds this event is very important.

In the light of British-German Initiative, international participants are interested in economic progress of BiH and leaving conflict aside, he emphasized.

”This is continuation of positive ‘open door’ actions and we need that,” said Šepić.

President of the Association John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand, is chairing the session.

He said it is their pleasure to support BiH, firstly on its path towards the European integration, with the ultimate aim of BiH becoming a modern and progressive state.

Mladen Ivanić, President of the Party of Democratic Progress, said that holding such session in Sarajevo proves that presidents of ruling parties from around the world appreciate parties from BiH and he also sees it as one of the examples of a friendly hand to the host country.

Meeting, which is also attended by Croat Democratic Union 1990 and many representatives of the ruling parties from all continents, was held behind closed doors.
