Mehmedovic warns on Discrimination against Bosniaks in Employment in ITA

Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šemsudin Mehmedović, stated that the employment of more than 200 workers in the Indirect Taxation Administration of BiH is coming to an end, claiming that this process is being carried out along with the planned “ethnic cleansing” of Bosniaks from one of the key state institutions, BHRT writes.

“In the Directorate for Indirect Taxation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the procedure for hiring more than 200 employees will soon be completed. According to the available information, director Zoran Tegeltija plans to continue the ethnic cleansing of Bosniaks in one of the most important state institutions, following the example of the institutions of Republika Srpska and Stolac,” said Mehmedović.

He added that he considers his multi-year warnings well-founded, recalling the recent appointment of four assistant directors of ITA BiH. According to Mehmedović, Tegeltija appointed four of his assistants, none of whom are Bosniaks.

“Even before the aforementioned appointment, which grossly violated the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and state laws, I repeatedly presented information about the lack of 226 Bosniaks in the Administration, which is the result of a multi-year planned and synchronized criminal-joint administrative enterprise of the SNSD and HDZ, which has as its final goal the complete takeover of state institutions and the complete disenfranchisement of the most numerous people,” Mehmedović stated.

He pointed out that he will continue to warn about these issues and insist on respecting legal and constitutional principles when hiring in state institutions.

“The most invited person, who would have to constantly speak about it, the deputy chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez, is persistently silent about everything. He neither speaks, nor works, and by his inaction he does not stop the brutal discrimination of Bosniaks in employment, as do the other Bosniak ministers in the Council of Ministers of BiH. I call on Minister Helez to finally publicly announce the above-mentioned competition in the Administration and take all the actions that should be at his disposal as a minister of state and deputy chairman. This competition would employ at least two-thirds of Bosniaks, in order to at least partially reduce their imbalance in the Directorate for Indirect Taxation,” added Mehmedović.

He called on Bosniak candidates to exercise their legal right and file a timely appeal if the admission of new employees is in conflict with the legal principle of proportional representation of Bosniaks in the Directorate for Indirect Taxation, announced the Mixed Club of Deputies in the House of Representatives of the PSBiH.
