Member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović met today with the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to BiH, Daniel Hunn. They emphasized that relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Swiss Confederation are friendly and without open questions.

The officials said that the relations between the two countries are reflected in good and developed cooperation in numerous areas.

Ambassador of Switzerland Daniel Hunn congratulated the member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, on his activities in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially on his successful visit to the NATO headquarters in Brussels. He also pointed out that there is a new positive atmosphere and a new dynamic in the work of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović pointed out that Switzerland’s engagement through the Cooperation Strategy with Bosnia and Herzegovina is appreciated because Switzerland, even though not a member of the European Union, supports our country on its path to EU integration and through a targeted methodology of development assistance in the fields of public administration, health, economy and employment. Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to count on the support of Switzerland, which has been a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council since January 1 of this year, it is said in the statement.

During the conversation, it was pointed out that in addition to the fact that investments from Switzerland are at an enviable level, there is room for enhancing cooperation, attracting new investors, and retaining and expanding existing, already registered investments. The two countries have good cooperation in the field of defense and security. Switzerland contributed significantly in the area of demining (Human security), storage of surplus weapons, and the continuation of Swiss support for activities in this area was also announced.

Switzerland, which has supported the economic and social development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is one of the largest donors in our country in the past period (more than 1.2 billion BAM has been invested since 1996), the BiH Presidency announced.
