Member of BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Walid Ahmed Abdelfattah Haggag, and expressed satisfaction with the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries.
At the ceremony of handing over the letter of credence, Bećirović rated his official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt at the end of April this year as successful, during which he met with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and other top officials of this friendly country. In a conversation with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, it was jointly stated that the two countries want to strengthen overall friendly ties and intensify bilateral cooperation.
Bećirović said that it is in the interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina to build friendship and alliance on all continents, and in this context he assessed the strengthening of relations with the Arab Republic of Egypt as significant.
During the conversation, Bećirović thanked the Arab Republic of Egypt for its support during the adoption of the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Srebrenica Genocide in 1995, in the UN General Assembly.
The newly appointed Ambassador Haggag expressed the determination and attitude of the Arab Republic of Egypt to improve cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was assessed that there are capacities and mutual will to intensify cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, especially in the field of education, culture and tourism.
Bećirović wished a successful diplomatic mission to the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Walid Ahmed Abdelfattah Haggag, and expressed his belief that the overall relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Egypt will improve during his mandate.
