Member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović spoke with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland Elina Valtonen.
Bećirović pointed out to the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office that an attack on the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina is underway. He said that peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina can only be preserved by protecting the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and by stopping the anti-Dayton and anti-constitutional actions of the leadership of the Bosnian entity Republika Srpska.
There are only two parties to the attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina – the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the suspects in this criminal act, said Bećirović.
OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Elina Valtonen expressed concern about the current situation, which has arisen from the undermining of the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the fundamental freedoms of citizens. She emphasized that she firmly supports the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that the activities of the RS entity leadership are contrary to the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She also expressed support for preserving the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Elina Valtonen said it was important for all political actors to respect the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the rule of law. She stressed that the OSCE is committed to peace, stability and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
Bećirović also expressed his gratitude for the principled support that the OSCE and the Republic of Finland provide to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration. He said that he had also discussed this with the President of the Republic of Finland, Alexander Stubb, during his working visit to the Republic of Finland last year.
