By order of a Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency – SIPA are carrying out activities related to searches of persons and facilities, as well as deprivations of liberty in the area of the Sarajevo Canton and in the Central Bosnia Canton, in connection with the criminal offense of Abuse of Office or Official Authority, which is linked with the criminal offense of Accepting Gifts or Other Forms of Benefit.

Several SIPA police officers are on the ground, and their work is being coordinated by the Prosecutor in charge of the case, who is presently located on the SIPA premises.

Three persons were deprived of liberty, two of whom are officers of the Border Police.

The activities are being carried out as part of a case investigating corruption during tender and employment procedures in the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The search will also include certain official premises of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In view of the fact that the activities are ongoing, we are unable to provide more information or details at this time.
