( Denis Zuberi - Anadolu Agency )

”From September 25th to October 2nd, the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH) are actively participating in EUFOR’s annual exercise Quick Response 2021 and it is possible that in that period the AFBiH movements in the fieldwill be somewhat more visible to citizens, ” it was announced from the Ministry of Defense of BiH.

According to the ministry, for many years the EUFOR exercise Quick Response has been testing the ability of the European Union (EU) military forces to deploy their reserve forces in BiH, if necessary, and help the authorities of BiH to maintain a safe and stable environment.

It has become usual for the AFBiH units and security agencies in BiH to participate equally in the exercise, in order to test the capabilities and achieved standards of joint action, coordination, and interoperability in the field in a multinational environment.

This year, in the EUFOR exercise Quick Response 2021, with EUFOR troops stationed in BiH and reserve forces from Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, and Turkey, the AFBiH is participating with three infantry platoons from the AFBiH Operational Command lineup.

The area of operations includes the zones of the cities Glamoc, Livno, Tomislavgrad, Ljubuski, Mostar, Capljina, Trebinje, Bileca, and Sarajevo.

”The scenario of this exercise includes the creation of a safe environment for eliminating the consequences of the devastating earthquake in the southern part of BiH, and members of the BiH State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), local units of the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Civil Protection, as well asother civil services and agencies are participating, ” it was mentioned in a statement.
