The Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto, and the director of the BiH Indirect Taxation Administration, Zoran Tegeltija, today handed over certificates for the use of electronic signatures to the members of the Sarajevo Canton Government (KS).

Forto expressed satisfaction that the KS Government has shown political will to improve digital transformation, but also hopes that BiH will catch up with other countries in the region, such as Croatia and Serbia, which are far ahead.

After the adoption of the law on electronic signature, Forto clarified that citizens will finally be able to perform certain obligations without coming to the competent institution, such as registering for public invitations, extracting documents or filling out an application for a project.

Forto emphasized that yesterday he met with the management of all three post offices operating in BiH and that they discussed their legal basis.

Director of the Directorate for Indirect Taxation Zoran Tegeltija, which is one of the carriers of digital transformation and which issues qualified electronic signatures for the private sector and legal entities, said that the digitization of public administration aims for the state to provide services to citizens faster and better, but that this an ongoing process that will require a lot of effort in the future.

He states that there is great resistance to everything that is different and new, but that the Administration will ensure the security of all documents.

The Minister of Justice and Administration of the Sarajevo Canton, Darja Softić Kadenić, pointed out that the KS has the first Government that submitted applications to receive digital signatures in the full convocation, which creates the prerequisites for the e-government project to fully come to life.
