Sarajevo will host the next regional ministerial meeting organized by the Transport Community, it was confirmed today during the meeting of the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Edin Forto and the new director of the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community Talis Linkaits.
The Minister received Director Linkaits for an initial visit, and they discussed future joint activities, improvement of regional connectivity and traffic safety, as well as continued cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Transport Community.
“Many of the challenges we have in transport in the region are similar, and that is why it is better to solve them together. I am glad that Sarajevo will host the next meeting of the ministers of transport of the Western Balkans, where we will discuss better connections and improvement of cooperation”, said Minister Forto and added that this will be an opportunity for another joint performance towards the European Union in seeking a solution for the residence of professional drivers.
In addition, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina supported the regional campaign of the Transport Community “A moment for life” aimed at key challenges in the field of traffic safety and raising awareness that joint action by institutions and the public is needed to reduce risks on the roads.
The Ministry will continue cooperation with the Transport Community on other joint initiatives and projects important for safer transport and better connection of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the region and the European Union, announced the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH.
