Professional art magazine Universal Colours with the head office in London and Helsinkii, declared BH photographer from Sarajevo, Mensura Jahic as the artist of the year, devoting her a cover and six pages of magazine.
Jahic is present for many years on the world art scene, and is often a guest of various art symposium and exhibitions, which often gather artist from around 50 countries. To present Bosnia and Herzegovina on this occasion is of special importance to her, and award from magazine “Universal Colors“ is her personal, but also an affirmation of BiH in the world.
Jahic got a diploma for honorary academician of UNESCO in Russian Federation in 2011 for success and results in the field of art and culture, while in 2014 she was a participant of three art symposium in Africa, Asia and Europe, and held four international and four solo exhibitions. The biggest successes she experienced are solo exhibitions in Kairo, artistic and cultural center of Arab world, where she was affirmed artist for years. Additionally, it is important to note that she cooperates with the numerous prestigious galleries, while Ministry of Culture of Egypt bears all material costs.
This year, Jahic got an invitation to participate on four art symposium in Turkey, Finland and Egypt, and two art colonies in Sarajevo. She is an author and coordinator of numerous project from culture, both local and international, and in a talk for klix.ba she reveals that she plans to make a Biennale in BiH with her colleagues from Helsinki, however that project is still in talks.
Besides that, she is a president of Photo Club Sarajevo which exists for 67 years.
