“Merhamet” of Sweden provided 76,000 BAM for soup kitchens in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) that operate under the auspices of the Muslim charity “Merhamet”.
The president of Humanitarian organization (HO) “Merhamet” MDD Kenan Vrbanjac said that this is a significant help from Sweden, considering that “Merhamet” feeds more than 8,000 socially vulnerable citizens and their families every day in its 46 soup kitchens and their points throughout BiH.
”The costs of our kitchens have increased a lot due to various price increases, so any help is welcome, in order to provide our users with regular and high-quality meals. And ‘Merhamet’ of Sweden regularly helps the work of our kitchens and our other activities, the aim of which is to take care of the most vulnerable categories of citizens of BiH,” said Vrbanjac.
He emphasized that “Merhamet” of Sweden, thanks to its president Fehim Halilovic, is a very active organizational unit of the Muslim charity “Merhamet” abroad.
Providing funds for soup kitchens is only one segment of the activities of “Merhamet” Sweden. Every year, this organization provides thousands of packages for socially vulnerable citizens in BiH, supports the Ramadan activities of the Muslim charity “Merhamet”, grants scholarships to children from poor families, and provides emergency assistance for the vulnerable during natural disasters.
”We succeed in all this thanks to the Bosnians and Herzegovinians in Sweden, who are always ready to help their people in BiH,” said the president of “Merhamet” Sweden, Fehim Halilovic, it was reported from HO “Merhamet” MDD.
